INSEAD and INSEAD Knowledge Websites Recognised by International Stevie Awards

Fontainebleau, France and Singapore – 2 July 2008 – INSEAD’s principal website (www.insead.edu) has won a prestigious Stevie Award at the 5th annual International Business Awards (IBA) for best home page. The school’s Knowledge portal (http://knowledge.insead.edu) was also named an honouree in the same category.

Recipients of International Stevie Award trophies and honourees were selected from more than 1,700 entries received from organisations and individuals in more than 30 countries. The awards honour the achievements and positive contributions of companies and business people worldwide.

‘We’re very proud that the INSEAD website has been rewarded with the Stevie Awards and that INSEAD Knowledge has also been recognised as a finalist for the Award. INSEAD’s online presence is very important for the global brand of our institution and we are proud of our excellence in this area”, said Soumitra Dutta, INSEAD Dean of External Relations and Professor of Information Systems.

The INSEAD Knowledge portal, named a Stevie Award finalist for best home page, was recognised earlier this year as an Official Honouree of The Webby Awards, regarded by the New York Times as the ‘Oscars of the Internet’.

Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs selected International Stevie winners from among the finalists, which were determined by volunteer judges around the world during two months of preliminary judging.

‘Entries to the IBAs grew 65 per cent this year and that illustrates the increasing importance of The International Business Awards worldwide,’ said Michael Gallagher, President of The Stevie Awards, presenters of the IBAs.

Nicknamed the Stevie® for the Greek word ‘crowned,’ the awards will be presented to winners at a gala dinner on Monday, 8 September in the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin, Ireland. Primary sponsors for the event will be Dow Jones and IDA Ireland.
