Lara A. Tcholakian is a PhD student at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Head of the Human Resources Department at VivaCell-MTS in Armenia. She holds an Executive Master’s degree in Consulting and Coaching for Change from INSEAD.
Her doctoral research investigates the connection between collective traumas, historical consciousness, ethnic inheritances and leader development, and seeks to contribute to leadership and organisational behaviour theories. She takes a multidisciplinary approach that encompasses identity dynamics, systems psychodynamics, sense-making and reflexivity.
Lara previously worked as a Manager for the World University Services of Canada, managing international projects in Peru and Sri Lanka in the areas of gender equality, capacity-building in plantation communities, and water and sanitation. She also directed the Eurasia Partnership Foundation’s Caucasus Research Resource Centre, which is based in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
A Canadian citizen, Lara also holds an MA in Socio-Economic Development from Paris 1, Panthéon-Sorbonne in France, and a BA in Political Science from McMaster University in Canada. Having lived and worked on three continents, she is now settled in Armenia with her husband and three children.
