Sivakumar Viswanathan is working as Deputy Dept Head & Senior Scientist at Data Analytics Department, Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), Agency for Science Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore. I2R was established in 2002 merging infocomm domain research centers, including Centre for Wireless Communications, which he joined in 1998. Before that he worked in start-up companies & Creative Technology Pte Ltd in Singapore and in Department of Atomic Energy in India.
His team was awarded IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Awards in 2016 & 2015 by Institution of Engineers Singapore. Over the years, he has managed several impactful R&D collaborations in data analytics, embedded systems and wireless communications domains.
He is pursuing his Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) at INSEAD. He received his PhD for “Scheduling Strategies in Computational Grid Systems” from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2009, M.Sc. in Engineering also from NUS in 2000, and B.E. from University of Madras, India, in 1989.
