Associate Professor of Finance

Biography

Ben is an Associate Professor of Finance (without tenure) at INSEAD and an affiliated faculty member with the Asian Institute of Digital Finance and the NUS FinTech Lab. His research focuses on financial regulation, fintech, and networks and has been published in journals including the American Economic Review, Journal of Financial Economics, Science Advances, Review of Finance, and Manufacturing and Service Operations Management. His research has also been cited in policy reports by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, French Council of Economic Analysis, and Japanese Cabinet Office, as well as industry reports by the CFA Institute. It has also been covered by multiple media outlets including The Economist, Reuters, and Seeking Alpha

Ben is also co-founder of Chicago Global, a quantitative investment management firm, and has previously worked for Citadel Securities and LEK Consulting. 

He completed a Ph.D. in Finance & MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelors of Science in (Honours) Economics, (Honours) Statistics, and Financial Mathematics from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor.

He is American, ethnically Thai, and grew up in Singapore. He is based on the INSEAD Asia Campus.
