Johannes Eichstaedt
Visiting Professor of Decision Sciences
Biography
Johannes Eichstaedt is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Decision Sciences at INSEAD. He also maintains a faculty appointment in Psychology and the Institute for Human-Centered A.I. at Stanford University, where he has been faculty since 2020.
Over the last 6 years, he has focused on using Large Language Models (LLMS) to help people acquire interpersonal skills and build well-being and mental health, and on understanding how AI is changing society. Over the last 15 years, his larger focus has been on using Natural Language Processing and online text data to understand the psychology, health, and behaviors of individuals, organizations, and communities.
In 2011, he co-founded the World Well-Being Project, now a consortium of psychology and computer science labs across four universities. After being originally trained as a physicist (with a Master's from the University of Chicago in 2010), Johannes became a computational psychologist and received his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 2017.
Johannes has published 85+ articles and raised $6.6 million in research funding. He has served as an expert for the United Nations and several governments, and was elected a rising star and emerging leader by three scientific organizations.
