Rodrigo Gouveia is a Lecturer of Decision Sciences at INSEAD, where he teaches Negotiation. He also works together with INSEAD’s Professor Horacio Falcão (author of: Value Negotiation: How to Finally Get the Win-Win Right), conducting negotiation training, coaching, facilitation and consulting to the private sector.
Rodrigo has taught Negotiation to the top management of corporations in several industries, in Africa, America, Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East, and coached over a hundred executives in preparation for their negotiations. He has done consulting work such as developing negotiation strategies for reimbursement of pharmaceutical products, negotiating settlements and improving the negotiation capabilities of procurement divisions in the automotive industry.
Rodrigo was previously a management consultant with Bain & Company, where he acted as a strategic project manager in an IT overhaul project of a large Brazilian Bank, diagnosing, reporting and mediating between different providers and business units. Before Bain, he had a career in scientific research in Biotechnology.
Rodrigo graduated in Genetics and Microbiology and post-graduated in Probability and Statistics at the University of Lisbon, Portugal. He did scientific research in Portugal, The Netherlands, the U.S. and Denmark before earning a PhD in Biotechnology, on the topic of Coevolution, from the Technical University of Denmark (where he later became a Post-Doctoral researcher). He published 10 scientific articles in international journals.
