Soumitra Dutta is a Director and Co-Founder of Portulans Institute, an independent think tank based in Washington DC and Executive Director for the SRM Group of Universities in India. Previously he has held leadership roles in international business schools, including Deputy Dean at INSEAD, Founding Dean at Cornell University and Dean at the University of Oxford. He has been the Chair of AACSB and the Global Business School Network, two major associations for global business schools.
He is the founder of the Network Readiness Index and the Global Innovation Index, two major global indices on technology and innovation. He served as the Chair of the Expert Group for the AI Index at the OECD (Paris, France) and as the co-Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Innovation Ecosystems. He has been on the board of global firms including Sodexo, Dassault Systemes and ZS Associates. In 2017, he received the Distinguished Alumnus award from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
