I consider firms (placeholder for business & organizations) as important decentralized tools for sustainable development. I care deeply about the social and environmental impact of firm level actions and firm level strategies might affect relevant stakeholders. I am also interested to understand how firms engage with their stakeholders (suppliers, employees and communities) to address issues of sustainable development and more specifically undertake low carbon transitions in the context of climate action (adaptation and mitigation) and net zero commitments. From a methodological perspective, I adopt mixed methodologies using in-depth qualitative interviews to understand a research context thoroughly, machine learning techniques as well as big data analysis to analyze large datasets focused on examining specific phenomena and experiments to conduct research embedded in real world contexts.

In my current working projects I focus on the following research questions:

(1) How can firms achieve cooperation (adoption and retention) of stakeholders especially suppliers for low carbon transition (climate change adaptation and mitigation) programs?

(2) What trade-offs in social versus environmental outcomes do firm level strategies for low carbon transitions entail for its stakeholders especially employees?
